Where the map is going
Strategy without chance, skill, or loss. Each layer below adds decisions under visible pressure; the only verb stays "pay".
Where we are live
Stage 1 is on outpaid.lol. Everything here works today.
- The living map. Towers sized by land, bots that spawn every 8 plots, a King who takes 10% of every new bid as land.
- Payments and ownership. Polar checkout in USD, $5 minimum, top-ups pay only the difference. The first buyer gets a private owner link and can rename, recolour, set a stance and a target.
- Crown theatre. Dethrone flashes, siege alerts and a Defend button for the owner under attack.
- Clicks. Every tower links to its own domain; clicks are counted and shown as $/click on every row.
- Sharing and stats. OG cards for every purchase, a share page per tower at /t/<host>, and live numbers straight from the database.
- Categories, taglines, icons, plant-my-tower. Choose where on the map you stand.
Districts next
Every category gets its own crown.
Categories become regions of the map. Each district has its own King, its own 10% tax, and its own page at /d/<slug> that says "Take the <district> crown for $N". A small tower can be #1 in devtools without fighting the whale in fintech.
Why a founder cares
Clicks become category-intent instead of curiosity: the person browsing the devtools district wants devtools. A district landing page is a backlink with your logo at the top, and "I hold the devtools crown" is a post.
Rule it respects. District crowns are derived from land, never stored. Nobody loses a plot when a district is redrawn.
Duels
24 h sealed stakes, fans pick a side.
Challenge any landowner to a duel at /vs/<a>/<b>. Both sides stake for 24 hours; stakes are sealed until the clock runs out. Fans can stake on either side. The higher total wins and paints the border for a week. Every stake becomes that tower's own land, win or lose.
Why a founder cares
Two products on one page with fans on both sides is the best distribution unit on the map: both founders post the same image, tag each other, and their audiences argue in public. The result card carries both logos.
Rule it respects. A duel resolves without any land decreasing. The loser keeps every plot they staked.
Alliances
Pool land, share tax, march together.
Found an alliance for 5 plots and invite towers. Alliance land is the sum of its members; the Alliance King takes a share of the tax pool. The map tints their territory, a shared border and a banner appear on every member's tower, and their bots march together on a rival.
A war chest: members pledge plots, the leader spends them to defend a member under siege. The plots stay the member's; only the defence is shared.
Why a founder cares
Joining needs a DM, so alliances are founder-to-founder reach by construction. Alliance wars get several founders posting the same screenshot at once.
Rule it respects. Pooling is arithmetic over the ledger. Leaving an alliance takes your land with you, untouched.
Stances
Fortress, Raider, Merchant.
- Fortress. Plots count 1.1x for defence; attacking you costs 1.1x.
- Raider. Bots reach further and can besiege two rivals; your own border is easier to siege.
- Merchant. Share clicks with allies and take a cut of alliance tax.
One choice, $5 to change, drawn on the tower art so the map reads at a glance.
Why a founder cares
Merchant routes real clicks between allied products. Raider makes your bots show up in more feeds, each a public two-product mention.
Rule it respects. Stances change multipliers on theatre and siege, never the plot count. Nothing here can cost anyone land.
Landmarks
Hold the Lake, the Hill, the Bridge.
Landmarks are fixed tiles on the map. Whoever holds the most adjacent plots holds the landmark and earns a bonus share of the district tax. Plant your tower next to one and the fight for it is visible to everyone who pans past.
Why a founder cares
Objectives make timing a decision: add plots before the rival does, or wait for their top-up to pay tax into your land. Holding a landmark is a named title for your product and a screenshot with a place name in it.
Rule it respects. Holding is derived from land every time the map draws; it is never stored and never taken.
Seasons
Monthly crowns, a Hall of Fame.
Every month the crowns, landmarks and titles reset; the land stays. Last season's King gets a permanent statue on the map, and a Hall of Fame page lists every crown ever held. Whale sinks for the top of the ladder: monuments, named streets, sponsored landmarks.
Why a founder cares
A season end is a post for every crown holder, with their logo on the card. A statue is a permanent backlink that says "this product was King".
Rule it respects. A reset touches titles only. Plots bought in season one are still plots in season twelve.
What this means for founders
Every game action must pay out in clicks, posts, backlinks or founder-to-founder reach, or it does not ship.
Out of scope, on purpose
- No chance. Nothing is random. Placement is decided by money alone.
- No real-time skill. There is nothing to be fast at.
- No losing land. Not in a duel, not in a siege, not in a season reset.
- No decay. A plot bought today is the same plot in five years.
- No takeovers. You can be outpaid, never taken over. The crown moves; the land does not.
Also not planned: INR or local pricing, accounts beyond the claim link, mobile apps.
